هذه الأفعال تقول بأن الفاعل تسبب في أن شخص آخر قام أو يقوم بأداء عمل ما له
The most important causative verbs are :
1- make / let
Sub. + make / let + object + inf. ( without to )
Ex. I've made him change his mind.
Ex. My father let me watch the film yesterday.
2- get
Sub. + get + object + to + inf.
Ex. I got him to change his mind.
3- Have
It has two models of sentences :
a)
Sub. + have + direct object ( impersonal ) + p.p.
Ex. I had my car mended last week.
Ex. He is having his house painted at present.
b)
Sub. + have + indirect object ( personal ) + to + inf.
Ex. The teacher had his students to answer all the questions this morning.
