They decided to get married last week although they ... each other for only five months. (have known - had known - know - would know)
ده رد محرر لونجمان علي السؤال ده The knowing took place before the decision, so the past perfect should be used: had known. That is how I would answer it in the absence of any more context. However, a native speaker might use the present perfect if they know that the decision was made but the marriage didn’t take place yet (as if the sentence were “They’re going to get married although they have known each other for only five months”). So it’s possible that you would hear such a construction from someone. |

بخصوص الفرق بين /work in -at -for /Write IN -Write FOR
(1) He writes in a magazine called Egypt Today. (Sec 1, unit 1 tapescript, TG page 15) (2) He writes for a magazine called Egypt Today. What's the difference between "work for" and "work in" and between "write in" and "write for"? ده رد المحرر First, all of these are grammatically correct. Sentence (1) would most likely be used for someone who writes freelance and publishes in a magazine. They don’t work as an employee of the magazine. Sentence (2) could be used for someone who writes either as a freelancer or as an employee. With the verb work, you could use for, at, or in to say the name of your employer if it is a company or corporation. If you work for an individual owner (or, say, as a household servant), you would more likely use for. You can also use work in to say your field of work, not your employer. He works in banking. She works in IT (information technology).
