• Leila was an archaeologist. She was going to Peru by plane to join Dr. Hafez the leader of an Incas archaeological dig, a part of a UNESCO exchange, she was taking with her a new laser dating-machine.
• Leila changed planes at New York. On the plane to Lima, she met Martin Lander. She told him about her work. He said he was a mining engineer.
• About her work, she got interested in archaeology as Dr. Hafez, a family friend. He used to tell her about his excavations. She studied in Italy.
• Dr Hafez was waiting for her. When Leila introduced Martin to him, he said that they had met before but Martin denied that.
• Dr. Hafez and Leila flew to Cuzco. Dr. Hafez spoke about the similarities التشابه between the ancient Inca civilization and the ancient Egyptian one. Kings were mummified. Gold and silver things were found in the tomb. The difference was that the Incas killed women and servants and buried them with the king. They also sacrificed children to the god.
• Dr. Hafez also said that Martin Lander was involved in the robbery of the Inca ancient treasures.
• Dr. Hafez put Leila at the head of a team.
• Leila couldn't sleep because of the jet-lag and the altitude.
• Dr. Hafez went to Quenco to meet the UNESCO representative. They had to leave good impression to support the project another year.
• Amalia, an archaeologist, showed Leila the site. Leila said it was her experience and not Dr. Hafez's friendship to her family that brought her to Peru.
• After finding an entrance hall for the tomb, Ramon – a worker – found a gold figure of a child.
• Ramon was lowered inside the tomb and he found some human bones.
• Dr. Hafez had problems with his computer. He asked Leila to go with him to Quenco. Leila told him that Amalia was unfriendly to her because of professional jealousy but he said she was good natured and she worked well.
• Leila wandered in the town. Getting tired, she looked for a café. She saw Amalia sitting with Martin Lander. When she met Dr. Hafez, she took him to the café but they had gone.
• In the camp, Leila used the internet to discover that Martin was a liar. The United Mining stopped work in Peru in 1999.
• The next day, they got inside the tomb. The human bones which Ramon had seen were of a person in a sitting position. The skull was broken. Either the person had been killed or the fallen rocks made the *****. The laser dating machine showed that the cloth dated back to the middle of the Incas period.
• Leila discovered a gold llama. She sent her sister an e-mail to tell her about it. They all, except Leila, left to go to a restaurant.
• Leila found the door of the tomb half-open. She went down the tomb and found Martin Lander in it. He saw Leila. She told him he was a thief. He said he had taken some artifacts. He said he was a collector. When he left, he pulled the ladder up, closed the door to imprison Leila in the tomb. It was a bad night. She had a nightmare. In the morning, Dr. Hafez came and helped her to get out of the tomb.
• Leila luckily found the gold mask. Pablo took it and said he would keep it in the safe. The next morning the police came as the gold mask had disappeared. The thief had got into the hut through the window. He opened the safe with a key and took the gold mask. Pablo was in Quenco.
• The police took the fingerprints on the safe and everyone's fingerprints and searched everyone's things.
• The police arrested Leila as a little gold rabbit was found in her work clothes. Later, Amalia came and asked Leila to forgive her. Out of jealousy, she put the gold rabbit in Leila's clothes. Leila was set free.
• Amalia told Leila she had met Lander in the café because she was angry he had harmed her father telling him about a new silver mine which wasn't true. The father lost all his money.
• Amalia knew Lander was in Acomayo. She and Leila set off to it. They had an accident. Amalia was seriously injured and she broke her leg. Leila went to get help. In a village, she found a man and two women who went with her and carried Amalia to their house. The next day Leila brought a doctor who sent Amalia to hospital by helicopter.
• In the hospital, Dr. Hafez came. He had told Pablo falsely that Lander was arrested. Pablo confessed that he had helped Martin to get the gold mask to get a lot of money. He would meet Lander that night. They decided to follow Lander to meet Lander.
• Lander drove a small truck to the far side of the airport. They were following him. Lander left the truck running in order to open the gates. Leila quickly got into it and rushed at Lander who got into a single-engine plane to escape. Leila drove at the plane and there was a crash. Lander was knocked out. In two days, the police got the gold mask and all the stolen things.
• Leila went to the villages and thanked the men and the two women who helped Amalia. She showed Dr. Hafez a new Inca site at the mountain. A team was sent there and confirmed it was so.
• Leila returned to Egypt. Reporters and photographers met her at the airport. The next day, the headlines of the newspapers were about the discoveries of Leila, the Egyptian archaeologist, in Incas.
