Today's topic is which pronoun to use after the word "than, as in "Nobody is more excited about the issue than I!"Or is it "than me"?

I believe Ken Wilson sums it up best in The Columbia Guide to Standard American English (3): Than is both a subordinating conjunction, as in She is wiser than I am, and a preposition, as in She is wiser than me.... Since the following verb am is often dropped or “understood,” we regularly hear than I and than me. Some commentators believe that the conjunction is currently more frequent than the preposition, but both are unquestionably Standard.
So remember, than he and than him are both defensible, but not all grammar mavens feel this way. Therefore, I would avoid the prepositional use in formal settings, such as a research paper or job interview.

Than I versus Than Me.

فكره رائعه جدا اليك منى كل احترام وتقدير ولكن لا يجب اشتراك الطلاب فى هذه المناقشه لانها تسبب تشويش لهم لذا يجب كتابه للمدرسين فقط وشكرا
اما بالنسبه alien2 فلدى عتاب يجب مراعاه الحب والاحترام المتبادل بين الزملاء فالمعلم قدوه وشكرا
ملحوظه :سبق من فتره ان alien2 تحدث الى بطريقه سيئه جدا ولكن يجب ان نحتمل بعضنا بعضا بمحبه فالمحبه تحتمل كل شىء

The correct answer is : Before leaving the party , he insulted all the attendants.
التفسير : يمكن لــBefore أن يتبعها ماضى بسيط ، ماضر بسيط .
لكن الماضى البسيط الآخر المفترض أن يكون فى زمن الماضى التام أتى فى صيغة البسيط لأنه مفهوم أنه تم قبل الحدث الثانى .
بطريقة أخرى :
الحدث الأول فى الجملة السابقة : إهانة الحاضرين (يمكن أن يستخدم فى صيغة الماضى التام أو البسيط )
الحدث الثانى هو المغادرة
و بالتالى فإنه قبل المغادره ، أهان كل الحاضرين (لاحظ أن استخدام before هنا حرف جر لأنها تبعت بفعل مضاف له ing)
الجملة الثانية :


he is richer than me
The correct answer is : He is richer than I (am )
التفسير: يا جماعة كلمة than رابط تتبع بجملة و لا يمكن أن تكون حرف جر تتبع ب مفعول و لذا فيمكن أن تتبع بــ I أو I am

كما أن الجملة تعبر عن حدث بدأ فى الماضى و مازال مستمرا إلى الحاضر
و بما أن الجملة مبنية للمجهول فإننا نستخدم صيغة المبنى للمجهول فى زمن المضارع التام المستمر
وهى have / has been being + P.P

ودي ملهاش علاقة بمناهج الثانوية
والتالته

وده صيغة المجهول لزمن المضارع التام المستمر وليس لها ذكر في المناهج الثانويه إلا أن هذه الصيغة صحيحة


وياريت ياجماعة نفضل ماشيين علي تراك المنهج ونتناقش حول ما يفيد ونبعد عن الاستعراض العضلي في اللغة لأن ده مش في مصلحة الطالب أو المدرس يعني "علم بها لا ينفع وجهل بها لا يضر"
