The African Cup of Nations 2010


Egypt won the African Cup of Nations for the third straight time. No other team has won the tournament three successive times before or a record seventh in total.

Thousand of Egyptian fans and top state officials headed by President Hosni Mubarak received the Egyptian national team as they arrived from Angola bringing back the African Cup for the third consecutive time.


Fans danced and celebrated on the streets, waving flags and chanting for the players. Millions of Egyptians inside and outside Egypt celebrated Egypt's victory. Fans flooded the streets waving flags and shooting fireworks celebrating the victory.
Our team made history, retaining the African Cup of Nations title for the third consecutive time, and seventh overall, after beating Ghana 1–0 with Gedo’s goal in the last five minutes.
Egyptian players dominated individual prizes with Ahmed Hassan winning the Best Player of the Tournament prize, El-Hadary crowned Best Goalkeeper and Gedo finished as the tournament's Top Scorer.
With this win, Egypt continues to dominate the African football scene winning its seventh title and third in a row as well as continuing its record of 19 games without a defeat.
Winning the African Cup of Nations for the seventh time pleased all the Egyptians and strengthened the sense of loyalty and belonging among all Egyptian classes, either rich or poor. We hope that this great achievement in football will be a push forward to our youth to continue developing in all fields of life.

اللاعبين المصريين حصدت الجوائز الفردية مع أحمد حسن الفوزبجائزة افضل لاعب في البطولة ، الحضري توج افضل حارس للمرمى وجدو هداف البطولة.
مع هذا الفوز ، اثبتت مصرانها لا تزال تهيمن على الساحة الافريقية لكرة القدم لفوزها باللقب السابع والثالث على التوالي ، وكذلك تحقيقها 19 مباراة دون هزيمة.
