6.Read the following passage, then answer the questions.
Has anyone ever said to you " You have your mother's nose" or " you have inherited your father's eyes?" Parents and grandparents often pass down certain physical traits to their children .A man with curly hair may have a curly haired son , This "passing down" of features is called heredity .And the study of heredity is a science called genetics. Mendal was the first to establish laws to explain heredity. Strangely enough, it was a garden full of peas that gave Mendal his inspiration to find out about heredity. Since his early childhood, Mendal asked countless questions." What gives flowers their different colours and shapes? Why were some peas smooth and others wrinkled ? Finally his curiosity got better of him and he decided to make some experiments that were really scientific . Instead of just guessing, he would make careful observations and wrote down every thing he learned . He chose to work with peas, since they were easy to grow. Because they had a short life , he could study many generations. He wanted to find out an answer to such a question. Would the offspring of a tall peaplant and a short peaplant be tall or short?
His theories have been of great help to farmers by showing them how to produce better varieties of wheat and other crops. Cattle breeders have been able to produce stronger, healthier cows and sheep. We Find right now, medical scientists who are applying the Mendalian theories to find out whether people inherit a tendency to certain diseases and if so, how this
inheritance can be controlled.

A doctor who worked in a village was very annoyed because many people used to stop him in the street and ask his advice. In this way, he was never paid for his services, and he never managed to earn much money. He made up his mind to put an end to this. One day, he was stopped by a young man who said to him, "Oh, doctor, I'm so glad to see you. I've got a severe pain in my left side." The doctor pretended to be interested and said,

Whether townsmen or tent dwellers, the Arabs have always been divided into tribes and clans, each having its own habits, customs, mental outlook and peculiarities. They are more or less distinct from the others in the type of work they practise, in culture and development. This diversity of culture was mainly due to diversity of origin.
Various races inhabited the peninsula in various ages. Many of these had passed away, but their failure or success to add lustre to the Arab race was ever fresh in the memory of successive generations, and on this tradition the early of the Arab Nation was based.
The Peninsula of Arabia has always been inhabited by two classes - town dwellers and those who live in tents. The former live in Villages , the cultivation of palm trees, the cattle breeding and the exercise of trade were the common deeds. Those who live in tents were occupied with the pasturing of their flocks. They lived chiefly on milk, dates and camel flock. They changed their habitation and they no longer stayed in one place when they failed to find herbs for their animals.
