The answer in teacher's guide is had taken
is this answer true

الحل صحيح لان الماضى التان يستخدم للدليل على الندم وليس التمنيات التى هى فى الماضي البسيط

الحل صحيح لان الجمل أمنية فى الماضى بعد I wish لذا نتسخدم الماضىالتام
ولو كانت الامنية فى الحاضر نتستخدم المضارع البسيط
ولو كانت فى المستقبل نستخدم could / would ( محمد عطية )

I wish they would come tomorrow. (I think they won't come.)
I wish he were here now. (He is not here!)
I wish they had won the match yesterday. (Thye didn't win the match.)
Three structures are used after wish [would/ could + Inf.] [Past simple]
[Past perfect] nothing else.
