My advice to my colleague is
to do their best
to teach English as a language not as a subjec .

but the question is :

How can we help each other to teach English as a language not as subject ?

What is your advice ?

As amatter of fact we learned to speak our own native language" Arabic" without studying:

· boring textbooks
· useless vocabulary lists
· or crazy grammar rules
Also we learned our native language by listening to real conversations and real people talking

So you- as a teacher - should use the same approach with teaching the English as a language.

Have your SS Listen to real conversations and the Real English that is used in everyday life.

Teach the slang and idioms that native speakers use every day.

Teach English the way you learned your native language as a child.

Soon, your SS will be thinking in English and speaking English naturally.

when i go to new school
introduce my self, my rules and talked with them by English they laugh and said :

أحنا مش فاهمين حاجه يا ميس واتكوا لي علي السين ههههه

i smile please you must use English as languish not as subject all I say it you are learn it

but you take it and put it in your notebook
try to use your vocabulary in sentences
i will say again more slowly and you will say to me what are understand from the speech

already they succeed and were very happy
