1- Through the novel ,Rudolf’s character has changed to the best. Discuss with example
At first Rassendyll was lazy and didn't want to work .He thought that opportunities were responsibilities. After playing the king's role he realized that his position in society had responsibilities. He risked his life to save the real king. He cared about the people of Ruritania. He became sure that everyone should have a positive role to play in society even without a position in society.
2- More than one mistake has been made by the pretend king. Mention two of them
Rassendyll's first mistake was at Flavia's house when the pretend king ( Rassendyll ) kept Duke Mikael waiting outside the guest room for a long time. The Duke couldn't get in without the king's( Rassendyll's ) permission but the pretend king forgot this rule.
The second mistake was during the ball when the pretend king told princess Flavia that when he was younger he thought he didn't need to worry about society as he thought it was someone else's job ,she told him the he always knew that he would become king.
He couldn't answer the questions asked by the French ambassador.
3- Compare between the characters of both Micheal and the real king. Mention Three Points.
The Duke was clever but he was unfair, selfish and cunning he wanted to take the crown although it was not his right. His brother was not wise it was Sapt who guided him but he was kind.
The king preferred eating to action but the Duke was a good fighter.
The king (Rudolf Elphberg) was only interested in good food and hunting he didn't know how to run a country he didn't care about the people. The Duke had always lived in Ruritania and he cared about the people.
4- It is said that Sapt is the brains in the novel. Prove that . Mention two examples
-Sapt asked Rudolf Rassendyll to go to Strelsau to be crowned instead of the real king after The Duke poisoned him to prevent the Duke from taking the crown.
-Morover , when they returned to the hunting lodge and found that the Duke's men had kidnapped the king he asked Rudolf to go back to Strelsau to continue pretending to be the king. Without his wisdom and good plans the Duke would have killed the real king and taken the crown.
- He appointed six men to follow Rassendyll wherever he went to protect him from The Duke's men.
- Sapt stopped Rassendyll from telling Flavia that he wasn't the real king as this would uncover their plans.
- He was so loyal to the king he was ready to give his life to save the real king and his crown.

Good plans:
Rassendyll's plan to save the King
Rassendyll planned that Johann would open the front door of the mansion at 2 o’clock. Sapt and his men would go in and tie up any servants who did not want to help the King. At the same time, Antoinette de Mauban would cry out for Michael to help her. That would keep Michael busy while Sapt and his men dealt with the servants.
Evil plans:
The Duke's plan to kill Rudolf Rassendyll and the real king;
Mickael sent three of his men to kill Rudolf at the summer house where he went to meet madam de Mauban . Rudolf's body would be found in the old town ,Spat and fritz would be arrested for murdering him at the same time a messenger would be sent to the castle to kill the real king.
Rupert's plan to Rassendyll:
Rupert will help Rassendyll attack the castle. Hentzau will decide the time. But Sapt, Fritz, Michael and the real King must all die. Then Rassendyll will remain King and Hentzau will have a reward.
6- Who represents goodness and wickedness in the novel. Mention two examples.
Antonitte de Mauban is a good character; She helped to save both Rudolf Rassendyll and the real king. She sent a letter to Rassendyll to meet her at the summer house to tell him about the Duke's plan to kill him and the king. She also helped him to escape from the Duke's men.

Rupert Hentzau represents wickedness in the novel. He was the worst criminal of the Duke's six men. At the Tarlenheim, he pretended that he wanted to shake hands with Rassendyll and he stabbed him in the shoulder with his knife. He also killed The Duke.

I think she was a good character as:
- When she heard of the Duke's evil plan to kill the real king and Rassendyll she didn't accept this plan and she sent a letter to Rassendyll to meet her at the summer house to tell him about the Duke's plan to kill him and the king. She also helped him to escape from the Duke's men.
- She sent a letter to Flavia to warn her of Mickael and his men and advised her not to accept his invitation.
- She looked after the king when he was ill in his prison.
8- Prove that Duke Michael is not the only villainالشرير الوحيد ? ( Give two examples )
Duke Michael is not the only villain but there are other criminals one of them is Detchard who tried to kill Rassendyall in the summer house. He killed the king's doctor who tried to save the king. Moreover he tried to kill the real king at the castle of Zenda when Rassendyall tried to save him.
Rupert Hentzau was also a bad character, he tried to kill Rassendyll when he stabbed him in the shoulder with his knife at the country house ( Tarlenheim ) . Hentzau also killed his master the Duke

Luck played a great role in this novel ; Sapt and Fritz were lucky to meet Rassendyll who looked exactly like the real king to take him to Strelasu to pretend to be the king as The Duke had poisoned the real king . Thus they managed to prevent Michael from taking the crown.

The king, Antoinette , Johann and the doctor represented the good side in the castle. They were all against Mickael's wicked plans. They were imprisoned by the Duke. Antoinette was imprisoned because she was fair; the doctor was imprisoned as he was sincere. The Duke and his six men represented the evil side. They were completely loyal to him and were ready to kill for him.
