How was Rupert aware of everything happening around him ?

He knew that Rassendyll wasn't the real King. He knew the Duke's plan to take the throne. He also knew that Antoinette de Mauban helped Rassendyll.. He had a plan with Rassendyll to attack the castle and he was still working for the Duke
