The Spiders
Chapter (1) through Questions and Answers:
1-Why did the four robbers go to (break into) the archaeological site (tomb)?
• They went there to rob it of the gold and treasures.
2-What did the robbers do in order not to be seen or heard by the archaeologists?
• They used two land cruisers with local number plates. They switched off their lights and engines. They stopped 200 metres from the tents of archaeologists and walked 50 metres through darkness.
3-Where did the team of archaeologists find gold and other treasures?
• They found gold and other treasures in two old rooms in a remote part of the western desert.
4-Why did the four men switch off their lights and engines?
• Because they didn’t want the archaeologists to see or hear them.
5-What happened when the four men entered the rooms of the tomb?
• They switched on their lights and torches and made a loud noise. That disturbed the spiders and they began to bite them.
6-What did the archaeologists do with the gold?
• They sent them to the museum in Cairo.
7-Why did the small man shout, “let’s get out of here”?
• As he felt a bite on his leg and the spider bit him three times and after that he saw spiders everywhere.

• It transmitted the radio waves through the wall, when the waves hit something on the other side, they came back to it. The computer changed the radio waves into a picture.

• Because he thought that there weren’t any deadly spiders in Egypt.
11-What did the men find in the underground rooms?
• They found five ancient Egyptians mummies, gold and other treasures.

• They were on their way to a transmitter in the desert, which had a technical problem.
21-In the pilot’s opinion, what killed the four men?
• He believed they had died of thirst and heat.

• When he suggested getting on the radio to tell the police so the pilot returned to the helicopter before the spider’s bite.

• A helicopter was flying across the desert and the pilot saw the cars and examined them, they were dead so they reported the matter to the police.

• To the police station in “Hamadayya” south west of Cairo.

• When they found paintings of ancient Egyptian gods and writing from 3,000 years ago

• The oldest man gave instructions and orders as a leader. The small man carried a machine like a camera to transmit radio waves. The strong-looking man was carrying a bag full of tools. The tall man carried a computer to change the radio waves into pictures.

• When the engineer suggested getting on the radio to the police, the pilot returned to the helicopter. His hand had been near the spiders before he moved away. They could have bitten and killed him.
