اريد معرفة رايكم فى هذا المقال المتواضع
How to be a good teacher is something worthy of our consideration.
To achieve this , we should pay attention to four standards ; (1) the teacher’s character ; (2) planning and strategies ; (3) profession update and (4) assessment .
In my perspective , the teacher’s behaviour with colleagues and learners is prior to the other afore-mentioned criteria . For he should not only behave well with his colleagues but with the whole members of the school community as well. Also, good teachers are mostly found in times of need . They are co-operative with the school staff. Besides, good teachers are seen as models for their learners to follow in their footprints. Thus , they’ll be engraved in their memories . As Longfellow puts it:
Lives of great men all remind us.
We may make our lives sublime;
And , departing , leave behind us
Footprints on the sand of time.
Teaching in itself is a means to an ultimate end – thelearner. Accordingly, the term “ learner –centered education “ comes into existence where the learner becomes the axis of education .In so doing , pedagogues directed attention to the strategies of “ the inter-active learning “ , i.e. . role play , brainstorming , peer learning , problem solving …etc .A good teacher should vary his/ her strategies from one period to another or more precisely within the same period . IF the teacher sticks to one strategy, monotony will prevail the class.
As for the teacher‘s profession. It must be cherished and updated
Trainings should be attended whether inside or outside the school .In addition, the internet is a valuable resource for the teacher to come up with the latest methods of instruction all over the world. Nowadays, most school libraries are networked.
The fourth criterion that teachers should be attentive to is assessment. Successful teachers utilize what’s called ‘rubrics’ or gradual marks to estimate themselves , other colleagues and learners .In my opinion, one should reconsider his / her work pieces periodically to be informed of his/ her pros and cons ; that is , points of strength and those of weakness . Nowadays , the portfolio is a an influential device whereby the achievements of both teachers and learners are assessed .finally, I think that it is not something shameful or degrading to unveil your own
defects either by yourself or by others in case you intend to reform them . In conclusion, one should be proud being a teacher since teaching is the
mission of the prophets ,So be proud and say it aloud: I AM A TEACHER
