استفسار لمن لديه الاجابة

ice cream is an uncountable noun like ( water - oil........) why you say
" I'd like to have an ice cream
the question is " why do we use an before ice cream although it is an uncountable noun?.

Some nouns can be either countable or uncountable.

unc , c.
كوب شاي tea a tea
coffee a coffee
paper a paper
glass a glass.

اجابات صحيحه فعلا جزاك الله خيرا
برجاء وضع الاسئله التى تخص الطلاب فى الموضوع المثبت (ضع سؤالك هنا واساتذه المنتدى سيجيبونك)
وعدم انشاء مواضيع مستقله خاصه بالاسئله وذلك لتنظيم العمل
ونلفت انتباه السائل الى ان سؤال الـrewrite غير مقرر هذا العام

الجملة كده صح ولا ايه

الجملة صحيحة
عادة نحذف الكلمات المكررة وده يعرف في اللغة بــــــــــellipsis
فنقول His young but strong بدل من He is young but he is strong

I think:
He is young, but he is strong.
Or: However strong he is, he is young.
Or: Strong as he is, he is young.
Or: However young he is, he is strong.
Or: Young as he is, he is strong.
لأن but يأتي بعدها جملة كاملة
