why do you think that the first sentence in not completely correct if you consider the sentence carefully you will find out that we are supposing the opposit of a present action so we used the 2nd case and to give the same meaning with a negative article we must change the word the same to the different I hope that my dear brother got my view point with my best regards Mr El Hegazy

Dear colleague we must use the word different when we use( Unless )as the fact says they aren't in the same class and we can't get a negative verd after Unless so to give the same meaning we must say (Unless they were in different classes )I hope that I could get my point of view across to :slap1qk6:you Learning has no end |

As For The First Sentence listen carefully, Aya the sentence is present isn't that true? Well ,so we must use if 2 and to give the same meaning *if the sentence is affirmative present it must be past negative when we use if and vice versa Hence, if we want to use if we must say *If they were in the same class,they would get the same HW.
