Which one is correct and why
He (had travelled - had been travelling) all over the world

I'm sure there is no answer

طالما ان الحدث تم في الماضي ولا نعرف بالضبط وقت حدوثه .. عندها يجب استخدام المضارع التام وليس الماضي او الماضي التام: فالحدث هو المهم وليس توقيت الحدث الذي ربما يكون ماضي وانتهى.. لكن ما يهمنا هو الحدث بحد ذاته.
والاجابة هي : He has traveled all over the world

اعتقد يا محمود بك أننا لا يجوز استخدام الماضى التام أو التام المستمر دون وجود ماضى بسيط
و الا أنت شايف أيه؟

انا عندي سؤال وياريت تجوبوا علية

مستحيل يجى اختيار بهذا الشكل
الماض التام
والماضى التام المستمر
لايأتى فى جملة لوحده

لابد من وجود حدث تانى لكى نختارهم كحدث أول

أنا عارفه الجملة دى جات منين
كتاب المدرسة صفحة 67

لكن اللى فى الكتاب معمولة فى سياق جميل وصحيح

انظرى هذا الجزء التى وردت فيه
كان حوار عن

By then :يقصد قبل الوقت االلى بدأ فيه الكتابة

يعنى اعتبرى أن

والحدث الأول (سفره لأماكن كثيرة) يوضع فى الماضى التام

ورغم ذلك سوف نضعها فى الماضى التام
لماذا ؟
لأن سياق الحوار يتطلب هذا الحل
