كلنا نعلم ان الصفات المنتهيه بy تصبح ier ,iest اذا كان الحرف الذى يسبق الyساكن
وبالنسبه ل ugly ايضا ذكر فى نسخه longman القديمه uglier/ugliest
ذكر فى English Grammar in use نفس الكلام ولكن ذكر الاتى
We prefer er with some two-syllable adjectives, especially adjectives ending in y

Just wanna daw your attention to something happened at that time!! I myself discussed that point and highlighted it in my an article published in the forum . Unfortunately i received no reply from any of the memebers of the committee supervising the exam at that time. But a year later i was lucky enough to meet one of them and he said that it was a shameful mistake, so let it pass!1 as so many things must pass!!!
