doing being done
do you have |
Thank you Mr Essam. Is there any reference to verify the answer to the first question? |
Yes.'heart transplant operation' is an object in the passive. So, we use passive structure.
Another reference is that we use gerund (and in other cases the infinitive) after verbs such as: see, watch, notice, listen, etc. The gerund and the past participle fit here. Also, whether we use done (based on a general fact) or being done (based on a continuous action happening during the operation) the meaning is acceptable. Best Regards Best Regards. |

To understand the first sentence clearly, let's put it in the active form It's amazing to see a surgeon do / doing a heart transplant operation Now let's change it again into passive It's amazing to see a heart transplant operation be / being done I think that's the answer for the first sentence as For the second sentence have you had is the answer because here we need a present perfect and have you got is not a present perfect in this context it is the same as do you have (The Grammar topic for Unit 2 in Hello 7) . شكرا للأستاذ عصام على هذه الأسئلة . أعتقد أن السؤال الثانى لا خلاف عليه . السؤال الأول : *. It's amazing to see a heart transplant operation doing. الإجابة الصحيحة كما أشار الأفاضل الزملاء و خاصة Mr. Moh55555 It's amazing to see a heart transplant operation being done / done . الشرح : هذه الجملة هى Adjective clause مربوطة بالضمير which فأصلها : It's amazing to see a heart transplant operation. It is done . ربطها : It's amazing to see a heart transplant operation which is done و على حسب شرح الجدول التالى من كتاب Longman Preparation Course for the TOEFL Test (computer and Paper Test ) http://www12.0zz0.com/2010/05/10/13/178913434.jpg و الطريقة الثانية : http://www8.0zz0.com/2010/05/10/13/590259380.jpg فإنه يمكن اختصارها على طريقتين : حذف which , is It's amazing to see a heart transplant operation done. و الثانية : هى أن نأتى أن نحذف which ونأتى ب being It's amazing to see a heart transplant operation being done. Best Regards Mr. Limitless |
