In this sentence "television" is dealt with as a commodity we buy like any other countable nouns

التلفزيون فى هذه الجملة مجرد اسم لسلعة والأسم مفرد قابل للعد ولسنا بصدد جهاز معين وإنما المقصود أى جهاز لذا وجب استخدام صيغة التنكير.
