فعلا اى محاولة تصويب الجملة تعتمد على التناقض او الغاء التناقض و اقرار الاضافة :

Quite is followed by a / an and in this case it means enough
He's quite a good soccer player. This is an example from Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English
This is quite a good CD. This is an example from Grammarway 4 by Virginia Evans

Quite is followed by adjectives and in this case it means completely or totally.
This machine is quite useless
