The sentence is comletely correct.
There is a similar sentence in SB P.1: The main reason is I'm proud to be helping to make Egypt a better place.

الجملة مفيهاش اي مشكلة خالص

والناس اللي بتقول بعد help to بييجي المصدر طب ماهو جاي مصدر اهو (be)

*** الخطأ في الجملة واضح جدا ...
و الاجابة الوحيدة والصحيحة فقط هي :
they are proud to be helpful to poor families
ووجب التنويه الى المعني :
فالمعني المقصود انهم متعجرفين و متكبرين ولا يريدون المساعدة : They are arrogant

proud + of فقط يتبعها ( somebody / something / pronouns )
مثال:
Iam proud of my son , he is always the top in his class

لكن : proud+ to دائماا يتبعها المصدر ( to do )

** تحياتي لكم من غزة المحاصرة
