بدأت قوات من الجيش إخلاء ميدان التحرير بالقوة من المعتصمين ونزع خيم المبيت، وحاول المعتصمون إقناع القوات المسلحة بالسماح لهم بالبقاء فى مقر الاعتصام إلا أن أفراد القوات استخدموا العصىّ وأبعدوهم بالقوة.. وقال شهود عيان إن عدداً من الخيام احترقت خلال عملية الإخلاء التى شهدت إلقاء القبض على العشرات.
