هذه حالة used to الثانية من الحالات الشاذة التي ياتي بعدها to + ing
v.be+used to+v.ing تعبر عن عادة في الوقت الحاضر فلازم الفعل يكون فيه ing يعني الاجابة reading ومعناها جدي اعتاد على قراءة الصحف في الوقت الحاضر ومازال
لكن لوقلت
My grandfather used to read معناها انه كان معتاد في الماضي على قراءة الصحف وهو لا يفعل ذلك الان
used to has three main uses to express habits:
1- subject + used to + v(infinitive) ----- to talk about habits in the pastكنت متعود على
for example: I used to go to school by bus, but I don't anymore.
He used to smoke, but he stopped smoking three months ago
2- subject + be (am, is, are) +used to + V ing--------- to talk about present habitsانا معتاد على
for example: I am used to drinking coffee in the morning
My sister is used to writing with her left hand.
3- Subject + get used to + V ing ------------ to talk about new habits ( العادات الجديدة عليك سواء تعودت عليها او لسه تتعود نفسك عليها او سوف تعتاد عليها)انا احاول ان اعتاد على
for example: I got used to getting up early in the morning because of my new job.
He is getting used to typing in Arabic.
They will get used to writing paragraphs very soon.
