individual or team
شكرا جزيلا لحضرتك الى حضرتك رد موقع longman المسئول عن المنهج
Is squash a team or individual sport? You used it both ways. In Sec 2 listening text of unit 4, is this sentence correct? "Sports like squash are individual sports -- you have to beat the person you are playing alone." What if we said "playing against" instead of "alone"? But in practice test 2 in the WB, you have "team sport" as the answer.

The answer for PT 2, Ex 3 #4 should be Squash is (c) an individual sport. This will be corrected in the next printing.
As for the listening text, the adverb alone modifies the verb beat. You have to beat the person alone, not with the help of team mates. In any sport you have to beat the person or team you're playing against. so it wouldn't make much sense for the person to be saying that. It's a given in sport. The sentence in the listening text is correct.
