i disagree with you mr . shabaan -- "climb " without "down " means to go towards thetop of something .something else --in the passage , the young man came down from the tree .then the man stood up .he didn't say that the man stood up while the young man was coming down. i think there is someting wrong here --and the right answer should be " after the bear had gone" .
