Dear Hoda


the difference is in the use of which preposition. Cause of gets to the heart of the matter whereas reason for merely gives a general explanation. The cause of the accident was the ice on the road but the reason for the accident was that the driver wasn't driving cerfully enough in those weather
conditions


Reason = an explaination or justification of an act., while
Cause = anything producing an effect or result.
Eg : The people protested against the rising fuel cost.
(The people protested ) - reason
( Rising fuel cost ) - cause
