by the way mr hadi has said something of great importance. actually most of the phrases and words we use as connectors are not considered connectors in english but we are the ones who use them as such. english is very flexible. i remember that in an article i once read such an expression:" ....... since he has left school."
if we consider this expression, most egyptian teachers will mark such sentences as "incorrect", despite the fact that such sentences are commonly used by native speakers of english.
i will provide another example of such sentences:
"he didn't used to play football when he was young"
i think most egyptian teachers of english will consider me as an ignorant teacher but such examples are marked as corect english (please check such valuable books as "university grammar)
