When Chris is possessive it is spelled Chris's. To show possession you add an " 's". If you have a word that has been make plural by adding an "s" , then you only add the '.
Example:
the boys' cars
the bus's noise

BUT this is not a hard and fast rule. See below from wikipedia:
If a singular noun ends with an s-sound ), practice varies as to whether to add 's or the apostrophe alone. A widely accepted practice is to follow whichever spoken form is judged better: the boss's shoes, Mrs Jones' hat (or Mrs Jones's hat, if that spoken form is preferred). In many cases, both spoken and written forms differ between writers.
