افتراضي present cont. versus be+going to

I know that present cont. is different in usage from (be+going to) but sometimes both are used in arranged or planned actions. How can I differentiate between the two tenses?
In this sentence, what is the correct:
Are you (playing – going to play) tennis after school today
?
