No , Idon`t think so because spiders were too danerous and they were unknown and no suitable anti-venom would work for it and the police officer weren`t know all the passage and rooms underground

I think that it is abalanced fight because every one has his own weapon
the spiders have the venom
and the officer has the insecticides and wear aprotective clothes
