سؤالين من أمتحان الشهادة الاعدادية بمحافظة الشرقية

4- Read the following then answer the questions :
One of my favourite places for a holiday is Mexico . I really like its weather because it never gets cold there . The people are nice , too . They never laugh at my Spanish . And the food is wonderful . Mexico City is a very interesting place to visit . It has some great museums and lots fascinating old buildings and the hotels are not too expensive . You can also go to one of the beach resorts like Acapulco and you shouldn't miss the Mayan temples .
سؤال أختلف عليه الزملاء
- The hotels there are ……………. .
a) cheap b) expensive c) not good d) too expensive

سؤال لا يختلف عليه اتنين ولكن هل ممكن نحسب worrying صح؟

- Read and correct the words :
- I am not worry now .

الإجابه هي expensive طبعا

اعتقد ان الاجابة هى cheap لان نفى الصفة المؤكدة يعطى العكس فى المعنى
مثلا عندما نقول he is not very tall. معنى هذة الجملة he is short وهذا اسلوب مؤدب للنقد
ولا تعنى ابدا he is tall

اما الجملة الثانية فلا يصح ان نضع ing لافعال المشاعر مثل love , like, hate, worryلذلك لايوجد كلمه اسمها worrying و لكنها worry فقط هى الصواب

اتمني اتساع دائرة النقاش
فالجملة الاولي بكل تأكيد expensive وأعتقد يتفق معي الكثير
والثانية اري انه يجوز استخدام worrying ( للنقاش ) فهل يتفق معي أحد ؟

How nice it is to bring back the old spirit. But what always hinders us is the busy tiring life we`re leading

Concerning the above, the correct answer is EXPENSIVE

When we mention some negative qualities, we should use mild language. For example, instead of saying Ahmed is lazy, we should say: Ahmed seems to be lazy / Ahmed tends to be lazy / Ahmed can be rather lazy at times
Another way is to use not too + adjective
For example, Ahmed is not too active = Ahmed is active but could be more active than he seems to be
But not too expensive = expensive
We cannot say it means cheap. If so, then what`s the difference between
not too expensive and not expensive
not too expensive means expensive but not so much, not to the degree that we can`t afford
not expensive means cheap

2nd: worrying is an adjective but can`t fit here because worrying means
مُقْلِق = that makes YOU worry

It must be worrying for you not to know where he is
It’s been a worrying time for us all

So the answer is: I`m not worried now

We can also say (in other cases): I`m not worrying you now
