Jones totaled 13 points and five assists for Frankford (9-0 overall, 4-0 league). "The last two games, he's played really well," Frankford coach Vince Miller said. "He's starting to step it up. It took him eight or nine games to find out what the coach wants." Both teams were sluggish early in the game. Overbrook (12-3, 3-1) committed six turnovers in the first quarter but went on to a 23-19 halftime lead. In the locker room, Miller reminded his players that they were as good as the visitors. "We felt that in the first half, we were beating ourselves," Jones said. ''They weren't much better than us. We just came out and played our game." Miller wanted the Pioneers to take better care of the ball. After nine turnovers in the first half, Frankford committed just four in the last 16 minutes. "I thought Overbrook was good, but not that good," Miller said. "They were a lot bigger than I expected. I knew if we had played a little better in the first half, we would have been up." Overbrook opened a 28-22 lead early in the third quarter. Frankford scored the next seven points to take a 29-28 lead. Unfortunately for the Panthers, leading scorer Eric Williams went to the bench with 1 minute, 36 seconds remaining when he picked up his fourth foul. But Duon Jones threw in a shot from halfcourt as time ran out to give Overbrook a 33-30 lead. The lead seesawed until 3:10 remained. Frankford took a 42-41 advantage when Jones hit a three-pointer from the top of the key. After a missed Overbrook shot, Jones threw a perfect pass to Eric Dabney for a layup to increase the margin to three points, 44-41. Overbrook's Jabbar Kimble closed the lead to 44-43, but Jones hit both ends of a one-and-one with 57 seconds left to put the Pioneers up 46-43. After a turnover, Dabney hit two free throws to boost the lead to 48-43. The Panthers' Andre Howard threw in a running three with five seconds left to pull Overbrook within 48-46. But, Frankford's Derrick Lanier hit both ends of a one-and-one to cement the win. ``The low point of our season was when we were up at Cortland,'' coach Eric Hamilton said. ``They're a good football team, and they embarrassed us. We had to go from Rowan to Cortland then, and we have to go from Cortland to Rowan now, and we're better prepared to handle it. ``It's not physical anymore at this point in the season. It's mental.'' The Lions (9-2), who are 3-0 in first-round games but 0-2 in East Region finals, got three touchdown runs and one touchdown pass from quarterback Pete Harteveld. The pass was a game-winner, coming with 1 minute, 34 seconds remaining. ``We
