Egypt's El-Sisi scheduled to address UN Wednesday at 6:00PM CLT

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will address the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday, state news agency MENA reported.
His address is expected to focus on Egypt's local and regional political situation since the 2011 uprising, particularly after last year's ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi.

El-Sisi already gave an address on Tuesday during the Climate Summit in which he called on developed countries to invest in renewable energy projects in the Middle East.

"Our nations suffer from aggravated energy crises at a time when they look to achieve high rates of growth, which requires an expansion of renewable energy projects … to provide energy with the transformation to an economic model that is more environmentally friendly," he said.

On different occasions, El-Sisi has called on foreign countries to invest in Egypt, whose economy has deteriorated amid political disturbance since the 2011 uprising.

He already sat with US businesspeople with whom he discussed new local tourism and trade projects in an effort to attract investment into Egypt.

El-Sisi, leading an Egyptian delegation of ministers and officials, is tackling a busy schedule in New York, where he is also expected to meet US President Barack Obama.

He has already met with several international state officials, most notably Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, whose country's Nile Dam projects might affect Egypt's water supply.

In addition, he met several US congresspeople, as well as the chairman of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab, former US president Bill Clinton and former secretary of state Hilary Clinton.

The president also gave several interviews to US media including the Wall Street Journal and CBS TV network
