![]() FIFA U-20 World Cup The opening ceremony is scheduled for Thursday 24 September when the host nation Egypt will take on Trinidad & Tobago at the 86,000-seat Egyptian Army Stadium Borg Al-Arab. The tournament, which ends 16 October will be played in Cairo, Alexandria, Ismailia, Port Said and Suez. Egypt have a convincing historical record at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, standing in 22nd position in the competition's all-time ranking out of 80 teams who have ever made it to the finals. The North Africans have made five appearances in the competition, starting with Australia in 1981. But their most impressive result was achieved 20 years later when they won the bronze medal in Argentina in 2001. The tournament which the country host in September and October will provide the young Pharaohs with a chance to compete for the title for the first time in front of their own fans. Although Egypt qualified automatically for the finals as hosts of the competition, the Egyptian FA insisted that their team should participate in the African Youth Championship that was held this year in Rwanda. They saw it as the perfect opportunity to test their youth side's ability to compete in such competitive circumstances. the Egyptians players have the ability and a golden chance to fulfill their nation's hopes of winning a medal in the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Egypt get into the last 16
![]() The Zamalek striker provided the decisive contribution following an earlier brace by Ahmed Shoukri to finish off an Azzurrini side who go through by virtue of their position as one of the best third-placed teams.A frantic opening set the pattern for the most dramatic and exciting match of the tournament thus far, with Italy's Antonio Mazzotta firing wide from the angle of the box inside the opening couple of minutes.Egypt were clearly nervous, but steadily grew into the game and created their first chance when Shoukri cut inside from the right but failed to find the target with a shot that lacked conviction. However, if that was a disappointing effort from the Pharaohs No10, he more than made amends six minutes later with a brilliant opening goal. Not for the first, or last time, Italy failed to clear their lines effectively, and Shoukri met the ball first time to send a rocket of a left-foot shot skidding along the turf and in at the helpless keeper's left-hand post. The stadium erupted and yet, within six minutes, there was only silence as Italy restored parity. Ali Mohamed was the villain of the piece, mis-kicking his clearance, although credit must go to Umberto Eusepi for an ice-cool finish into the far corner from six yards. If Egypt were rocked by that equaliser, it didn't show. Soon, they were on the attack again and it was no more than they deserved when Shoukri restored their lead in first half stoppage time.Again, the Italy defence were caught napping, and the Al-Ahly youngster took full advantage with a shot that spun into the net via a wicked deflection. The hosts looked to be in command at this stage, but despite starting the second half the stronger, they found themselves pegged back again just seven minutes after the re-start. They had no-one to blame but themselves either, having allowed substitute Michelangelo Albertazzi to sneak in unmarked at a corner and direct a precise header into the bottom corner.

![]() ماذا قال موقع الـ FIFA الخاص بالبطوله عن انجازات مصر الكرويه Egyptians are generally not big sports fans, but football is by far the most popular sport in the North African state. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA), which was founded in 1921 and joined the FIFA family two years later, has 70,000 members, belonging to about 112 clubs. The Etisalat League, the elite football competition, attracts an average of 5,000 spectators per match. The Egyptian Cup was launched in 1921, while the domestic championship began in 1948. Cairo's Al Ahly is the most popular and successful club in the country. Along with their arch-rivals Zamalek, Ahly are giants of African football. The Egyptian national team, affectionately known as the Pharaohs, have a distinguished record including two fourth-place finishes at the Men's Olympic Football Tournament (1928 and 1964). However, although in 1934 they became the first African country to participate in the FIFA World Cup™ finals, Egypt have made only one subsequent appearance on football's greatest stage, at Italy 1990. The Pharaohs have won a record six CAF Africa Cup of Nations titles, seized in 1957, 1959, 1986, 1998, 2006 and 2008, and can count the likes of Ali Abugreisma, Mahmoud El Khatib, Ibrahim Youssef, Magdi Abdelghani,Tahar Abouzeid, Hossam Hassan,Hany Ramzy and Mohamed Aboutrika among their greatest all-time players. فى هذا الرابط تجد كل شيئ عن البطوله
