1-MICHAEL’S PLANS:-

1- What was Michael’s plan to be king? (to take the crown)
- He invited his brother (the king) to stay in the hunting lodge.
- He sent the king some poisoned cakes to prevent him from going to the coronation.
2- What was Michael’s plan to get rid of Rassendyll and be king?
- He tried to trap Rassendyll in the summer house and kill him.
- His body would be taken into the old town and Michael would arrest Spat and fritz for killing the king.
- A messenger would be sent to Zenda to kill the king,too. So, the duke would become king.
3- What was Michael’s plan to defend the castle?
- There were two small rooms inside the castle. One room had no windows, so it was always lit by
candles. Behind it was a second room with a small window, where the King was kept in chains.
- If some people attacked the first room, Detchard would go into the other room and kill the
king. He would throw the king’s body into the stone pipe and the weight of the chains would
keep the body under water. Michael’s men would then escape down the same pipe and swim across the moat.
- If many people attacked the castle, Detchard would kill the king and throw his body into the moat through the pipe. One of the six men would take the king's place in the room.
2- SAPT’S PLAN:
1- What was Sapt’s plan to spoil the duke’s plot to take the crown?
- Sapt suggested that Rassendyll should replace the king at the coronation.
- At night after the coronation, Sapt and Rassendyll would go back to the hunting lodge.
- Fritz could stay to guard the King's bedroom. Josef would get the King ready.
- The King and Sapt would return to the palace and Rassendyll would leave the country.
2- What was Spat’s plan to deceive the duke’s men at the hunting lodge?
- He put the poisoned king in the cellar so that the duke’s men would think that no one was there.
- He decided to leave the hunting lodge an hour early.
3- What was Spat’s plan to protect Rassendyll from the duke’s men?
- He ordered six men to follow Rassendyll wherever he went in Strelsue to guard him from the duke’s men.It would be useful for the duke if Rassendyll disappeared.
3- Rassendyll’s plan:
1- What was Rassendyll’s plan to make himself popular?
- He decided not to say anything bad about Duke Michael.
- He rode his horse through the park with Fritz and waved to everyone bowed to him.
- He rode through some narrow and old streets where poor people lived.
- He stopped to buy flowers from a poor young girl with a gold coin.
- He visited Princess Flavia, who was very popular.
2- What was Rassendyll’s plan to save the king?
- Johan would open the front door of the mansion at 2a.m.
- Spat and his men would quickly enter and tie up the servants if they refused to help the King.
- At the same time Madame de Mauban would cry out for help from her room. The Duke would
surely come to see what was happening, and they could catch him.
- Then there would only be two men left guarding the King, so they would need to move quickly
before they hurt the King.
- The house at Tarlenheim would be filled with lights and music so that people believed they were having a ball.
4- Rupert’s Plans:
# What was Rupert’s plan to help Rassendyll?
- He asked Rassendyll to attack the castle bravely and kill Sapt, Fritz, Michael and the king. That would leave both of them alive. Rassendyll would be king and he could have a reward.
