The Nile
The Nile, is a source of life to Egypt. It is considered a chief source of wealth, welfare and prosperity to Egypt. We enjoy drinking its fresh pure water. We irrigate our lands from it. Vast areas of land are reclaimed with the help of the Nile. Egypt is the gift of the Nile. We should not throw waste into our dear Nile. We should keep it clean and pure.

Without the Nile, Egypt would be a desert barren land. The Nile is the lifeblood of Egypt. Without the Nile, life would be impossible in Egypt.

After the white revolution of 25 January and when Government recognized that former regime was not giving due care to the countries which share us in the Nile, so they started to plan for setting up new projects and dams on the Nile which can lead to a decrease in our share of water, prime minister Dr. Sharaf accompanied by popular organizations have made many visits to those countries to strengthen our relations with them and convince them to keep the same quantity of water which we should get as per previous agreements.

The Nile's source countries crisis.
Water crisis is a term used to refer to the world’s water resources relative to human demand. The main conflicts in Africa during the next 25 years could be over water. The treaty, signed by Rwanda, Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania will replace a 1959 agreement that secured Egypt its historic rights of Nile waters (55.5 billion cubic meters of water each year). Egypt and Sudan boycotted the meeting and have declared objections to the agreement. Egypt must face that treaty. That could be more dangerous to Egypt's "national security" than finding a solution now.
The new treaty comes after the collapse of negotiations between the river's source countries. Egypt and Sudan will not be legally committed to any agreements signed in their absence. The new treaty doesn't mean anything to both countries," Egypt must make an effort to resolve the crisis peacefully before it becomes unmanageable.Cairo warned in 1991 that it was ready to use force to protect its access to waters of the Nile, which also runs through Ethiopia and Sudan. If the populations of these countries continue to rise, competition for the water could be fierce. We must be aware of this and work to preserve and conserve water for future generations. This will be our legacy to our children.
