body planes

coronal or frontal plane :

a vertical plane running from side to side and divides the body or any of its parts into anterior and posterior portions .

horizontal or transverse plane :

a plane which divides the body or any of its parts into upper and lower parts.

sagittal plane :

a vertical plane running from to back and divides the body or any of its parts into

right to left sides.

median or midsagittal plane :

a vertical plane running from front to back and divides the body or any of its parts into right and left sides
