He heard a noise of waves crashing on the shore of a sea and his uncle's voice .

2- Why did the professor ask Axel to call him?

he fainted . He fell down be cause the slope was very steep .

6- What did Axel and the professor find along the shore of the sea?

They found giant mushrooms, bones of extinct animals and plants taller than plants on the surface of the earth .



7- Who made the raft ? Why?
Hans made it to cross the Lidenbrock

He cut down some trees and tied them together .



9- How did the characters cross the sea?

By the raft.



10- What did Hans catch in the Lidenbrock Sea ?He caught a strange fish . It had a flat head with no tail or eyes .



11- How did the professor know that the seawas deep?

He threw a pickaxe tide to a rope in the water but it didn't reach the bottom .



12- What did the two monsters do in thewater?

They attacked each other and one of them killed the other.

14- As soon as they saw the letters A.S carved in stone, the characters knew that Arne Saknusseum had been there before them.



15- The characters saw the letters A.S. carved on a stone at the entrance of a dark tunnel .

17- Axel and Hans broke the huge rock down by using gunpowder.



18- Axel wasn't worried about losing the food because he thought they would probably be killed soon .



19- The characters had returned to the surface of the earth through the active volcano of Stromboli.



20- The only chance of returning to the surface of the earth was The eruption of the volcano .
