الاجابه DESPITE لأنه يمكن الاستغناء عن THEY had ومع ذلك تكون الجمله واضحة المعنى كما يلى: They could survive despite the problems> سوا قلنا They had or not .لأن Despite تفيد التناقض الحادث فى الجمله ويليه ( Noun or Gerund )
