i want an explanation for this point

when we change the first sentence to indirect speak we know that we don't change the verb because it's fact

do we consider the second sentence fact too(( as the name isn't changed and usually it's one all life)) ?? or we change the verb to the past simple

first : it is report the spoken words in this case it's not a fact and facts are known like earth but this is reported speech not fact so change it to past simple
