جميل هذا النقاش ولكن ......!!!!!!!!
لم اقلل اطلاقا من أهمية native speakers ولا أقول ان هناك عرب أفضل منهم (بالرغم أن هناك بعض الحالات موجوده ) وامنية حياتي الاحتكاك بأهل اللغة
ما قصدته هو
لو أختلف native مع مرجع هنصدق مين ؟؟؟؟؟؟؟
الكلام لا يحتمل التأويل (لم أقل يختلف معنا ) ومن يقول اننا أفضل ؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟

خلاص يامستر نبيل الموضوع انتهى نتناقش فى اللغه افضل بدل من هذه الاراء الشخصيه كل واحد

شايف نفسه الصح فى امور معينه انهى الموضوع ده وياريت نهتم باللغه نفسها انت كنت فى امتحان بيقيس

قدرات اللغه ياريت تنقل لزملائك نصيحه تفيدهم فى اعدلد انفسهم لمثل هذه الاختبارات

بس زى ماانت عارف كتاب Practical متعب فى ترتيب موضوعاته غير المراجع التانيه ارجوك بس تحدد لى قاعده
seeing that هو ذكرها مع if ولا مع ايه بالظبط حدد بس مكان ذكرها

Yea, I remember everything about our heated discussion. Don't worry ! I have a good memory! That's fine . "Seeing that" means "because". That's what I said. By the way. I am a member of a British forum called "english forum" You can ask them any question you like and receive the answer on the spot. I found it a golden chance to ask about the sentence you wrote down in this wonderful thread. I asked my question and received the correct answer on the spot which was not different from the one I gave. I'll send you the link in a private message now.

the answer is right beccause (raise)here equals (rise )which means an increase in the amount of money

I asked the mechanic to repair my father's car. (My

What about the following answers?

:

* My father's car is the one which I asked the mechanic to repair.

* My father's car was asked by me to be repaired by the mechanic.


* My fathers owns the car that I asked the mechanic to repair.

Note that examiner wants you to use My Father not My Father's


so I suggest that the answer should be:

My father had his car repared at the mechanic's.

Dear Mr Galal
I think neither of them maintains the same meaning as the original one for the following reasons:
* My father's car is the one which I asked the mechanic to repair.
In this sentence the speaker knows that the addresse (the listener) has more than one car in mind, so the speakers is trying to specify which one of them he is talking about by using "is the one which I asked the mechanic to repair.". That's why he uses a defining relative clause.

* My father's car was asked by me to be repaired by the mechanic.
The second sentence is grammatically not correct. The mechanic is the one who was asked not the car. Verb ask here is not used in the same meaning of "demand". "Ask" here means "to put a question to someone, or to request an answer from someone ". So the object of the verb here must be "someone" not the car.

* My fathers owns the car that I asked the mechanic to repair.

The last sentence here assumes that the listener has asked the speaker about the owner of the car the speaker asked the mechanic to repair.
This sentence could be logical in the follwing mini-dialogue
Listener: Who owns the car that you asked the mechanic to repair?
Speaker: My fathers owns the car that I asked the mechanic to repair.
