in the 1 st sentence ,i guess closed is much more appropriate, and the second one ,I guess it is collective as an adjective to the noun mistakes,it is much better

The word "shut" is a bit more dramatic and sounds a bit sharper, so ideal for use when you're angry or hurried e.g. "shut the door!" "can you shut the window? It's cold!" Whereas "close" is just a bit more of a normal and peaceful way to say it, and can sound more romantic e.g. "close your eyes". Shut' certainly doesn't have to be negative, but I think that it does carry a tinge of abruptness, harshness and the like. It's not terribly blatant though, so it serves as a good synonym for 'close'. |

Dear sirs, Don't forget that we can use past simple tense instead of past perfect with some adverbials of time such as (after-before) >this is because the meaning of the adverbials of time imply the sequence of events
-AfterI had seen /saw the crimminal ,I informed the police - Before I prayed , I had washed/washed - But this role can't be applied to certain adverbials such as (when)n Mr.Saber Abdul-Kader FOWA-KAFR EL L-Sheikh- |
