تعليق الرائع مستر عصام وهبة علي الامتحان
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?to...3484#post13907 Gentlemen, People thought things would change after the Revolution, but it seems that it is business as usual – at least this is the case in the ministry of education. The English exam for third year secondary students had serious flaws that led students to misunderstand some of the exam questions. Using difficult and unfamiliar vocabulary in the multiple choice items distracted and confused students and made it difficult for them to understand the sentences. I'd venture to say that an average secondary school teacher would have set a better exam1. Gentlemen, how can we ask students to choose the correct answer when the four options provided are all wrong? (The multiple choice question, item No. 3) No. 5 and No. 15 are special cases of conditional sentences that should be avoided in exams. We, as teachers, have always been taught that exams should assess what they are designed to assess. We strongly recommend that the ministry of education provide a training course in testing for the people selected to set nationwide exams like Thanawiya Amma. Why doesn't the ministry ask the English gentleman who authored the textbook to set the exam himself? At least the exam wouldn't have been so confusing. Thanawiya Amma, unfortunately, has become an annual nightmare or a bugbear for students and their families and even for teachers themselves. How long will our poor students continue to suffer? We need to undertake immediate reforms in our educational and testing systems or else Egypt will never achieve any real progress. |

Neither of and either of are followed by a plural noun or pronoun and a singular or plural verb. A plural verb is more informal: Neither of my parents speaks/speak a foreign language. يبقي ليه ما تنفعش؟ |

In the model answer key, (d-will be) is the correct answer. This choice is wrong. b) would have been is an acceptable answer, but the correct answer is ''would be'' 100%..
