![]()
The correct answer is "will be " You have two clues here the first is " promise" Which uses the future simple only the second is tomorrow which means the promise hasn't been achieved yet so "will be " is the logical answer.

![]() The auxiliary would can also express a future in the past, and is used in reporting statements and questions which pertained to the future at the time they were made.
e.g. She asked if we would help her the next day. They said they would arrange to meet us the following week. http://www.wordpower.ws/grammar/gramch08.html#4 You promised me the car would be ready on Monday. Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English N.B. Notice the clue in the above-mentioned sentence "on Monday''and in the other examples there are clues as well. I'm convinced that '' would +infinitive'' is the correct and logical form in all the examples given. I hope you will consult good grammar books ,e.g. 1- A Practical English Grammar 2- Practical English Usage 3-Longman English Grammar 4-Cambridge Grammar of English |

![]() Future in the past clues: on Monday , the next day, the following week and tomorrow I consulted all the grammar books I have and logged onto grammar websites. All these sources mentioned that ''future in the past'' is formed with ''would +infinitive''.
ليس من الضروري بم أن الجملة تنتهي بكلمة tomorrow أن نستخدم معها will في هذه الحالة والسبب بسيط هو أن المستقبل هنا ينظر إاليه من الماضي (promised) وليس من الحاضر (promises) . |
