You're right about the English and American pronunciation for schizophrenia, which is our main concern.

Maybe the reason why some people pronounce it like this is that it originally comes from Deutsche (or German).

Etymology: New Latin, from schiz- + -phrenia

I did not study Latin to know the pronunciation of the "schiz-" part. And as English Language is concerned here, that is the right pronunciation of the word. I would be greatful if you could tell me how to pronounce the latin part "schiz-"
