Contemplations
On the first day of Ramadan, we should ask ourselves why we fast, how to fast and what benefits we get from fasting. In fact, some people fast because they are used to do that. To them fasting is just a habit. If fasting is merely a habit , then it is useless for we fast for God's sake. Allah ordered us to fast. we obey His orders to gain his satisfaction. As for the second point which is about the way we fast, I'd like to say that fasting is not only abstaining from eating and drinking . but it is also abstaining from what displeases God such as backbiting people, telling lies, insulting and laughing at people. If you refrain from doing whatever displeases Allah, you will be pious.

fast is the fourth pillar in islam and we must fast to know how the poor live and keep our bodies in good condition.

Ramadan is the exalted month in Muslim's life and is the fourth pillar of Islam.In this holy month Allah descended the holy Qur'an to his prophet Muhammad(salalahu alaihi wasalam).It is the month of fasting,praying through the nights,charity and good deeds.In this exalted month Allah gave the nation of the prophet (pbuh) five traits as follow:

A) The hateful smell which comes out from the mouth of a person observing fast is better than the smell of the musk (according to Allah's considering).

The angels of the Lord (Allah) are seeking Allah's forgiveness for those who are fasting.

C) Allah with his mercy and generosity decorates the heavens (Paradise) every day and says:{ My righteous slaves are close to throw away their hardship and get into you(means to the heavens).

D) The giant Satan (Devils) will be in imprisonment so,they cannot get from people as they can get before Ramadan(means they cannot guide people to bad works as they were before).

E) Allah with his mercy and generosity will forgive his slaves at the last night of it.

Ramadan is a month that all heavens doors are opened and hells(fires) are closed during it.The prophet Muhammad(salalahu alaihi wasalam)said:By the one in whose hand my self is the smell of the breath of a man fasting is better with Allah than the scent of musk,he leaves his desires and his food and drink for my sake ,fasting is for me and I reward it.Every good action is rewarded by ten times its kind,up to seven hundred times,except fasting which is for me ,and I reward it) .So, every muslim should stimulate himself and pay effort to work in this month as possible as he can to gain more rewards in this great month.
