Egyptian volunteers organize traffic in Cairo, Egypt, Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011. With the police having disappeared from the streets, residents reported gangs of youths, some on motorbikes, roaming the streets, looting supermarkets, shopping malls and stores. Some of the gangs made it to affluent residential areas in the suburbs, breaking into luxury homes and apartments. The *****le of gunfire could be heard in the city center as well as outlying districts


المتطوعين المصريين بتنظيم حركة المرور في القاهرة، مصر، الأحد، 30 يناير، 2011. مع الشرطة بعد أن اختفت من الشوارع، وأفاد سكان عصابات من الشبان، بعضهم على دراجات نارية، تجوب الشوارع ونهب محلات السوبر ماركت ومراكز التسوق والمتاجر. جعلت بعض العصابات إلى المناطق السكنية الراقية في الضواحي واقتحام المنازل والشقق الفاخرة. وأمكن سماع فرقعة لاطلاق النار في وسط المدينة، فضلا عن المناطق النائية

As President Mubarak struggles to regain control after five days of protests he has appointed Omar Suleiman as vice-president. The present death toll stands at 100 and up to 2,000 people are thought to have been injured during the clashes which started last Tuesday. Overnight it was reported that thousands of inmates from the Wadi Naturn prison had escaped and that Egyptians were forming vigilante groups in order to protect their homes after Police were nowhere to be seen on the streets. Broadcasts from the Al-Jazeera television network via an Egyptian satellite have now been halted


القاهرة، مصر - 30 يناير: رجل ملفوفة في فتات العلم المصري في ميدان التحرير يوم 30 يناير 2011 في القاهرة، مصر. كما يكافح الرئيس مبارك لاستعادة السيطرة بعد خمسة أيام من الاحتجاجات كان قد عين عمر سليمان نائبا للرئيس. عدد ال***ى الحالي يبلغ 100، ويعتقد ما يصل إلى 2000 شخص أصيبوا خلال الاشتباكات التي بدأت يوم الثلاثاء الماضي. بين عشية وضحاها أفيد أن الآلاف من السجناء من سجن وادي النطرون وهرب وأن المصريين كانوا تشكيل جماعات أهلية من أجل حماية منازلهم بعد كانت الشرطة في أي مكان أن نرى في الشوارع. وقد تم وقف البث من شبكة قناة الجزيرة الفضائية عن طريق القمر الصناعي المصري
