* Egypt has begun to take serious steps in setting up a nuclear reactor for peaceful purposes since it is the right of any country to use this great blessing on condition it is well used .

* Dr El-Baradie , the director general of the international atomic energy agency has bee awarded the Noble prize . he has exerted great efforts to fight the spread of nuclear weapons and to cater for the application of nuclear energy for peace .

* Bird flu is thought to be the greatest world threat nowadays . no geographical barriers will stop the spread of the disease because the open skies mean the risk will reach every where on the wings of birds migrating from north to south .

* The great man of letters Naguib Mahfouz died at the age of 95 . he was awarded the Noble prize for literature in the year 1983 , it was the Cairo trilogy that established his reputation . his novels were translated into many languages and were made into films .

* Education is the first national project in Egypt and the teacher is the corner stone of the educational process Hence , the state is now preparing for anew law to raise teacher's salaries .

* The state is paying more attention to youth . it has begun to put in place many projects as the social fund for development which aims at providing new job opportunities to put an end to the unemployment problem . it has also offered loans with low interests to help them set up their own projects .

* Education aims at building the egyptian citizen who is able to face the future and to create a productive society . therefore the state is paying more attention to education . it has begun to build modern schools and develop curricula to cope with advanced countries .

* Mrs. Mubarak plays a visible and effective role in social life in Egypt . she has Paid much more attention to the issues of mother hood , childhood and culture moreover she has adopted " reading for all project " .

* Our need for water in Egypt is expected to increase much in the near future this is because there will be more people who will need water for drinking , washing and irrigation purposes therefore, if we don't economize on water , we shall face serious problems .

* One of the main cases of the earth's troubles we have is that, the worlds is over populated and this over population is growing at a never increasing rate . At the same time the earth is unable to provide enough food since the fertility of some of our richest soils has been lost and vast areas " fertile lands " have been turned into barren deserts .
